Apart from the permanent exhibition of the history of Jerusalem, the Museum also plays host to temporary exhibitions that are connected by subject matter in one way or another to Jerusalem. The exhibitions cover a wide range of art forms, including architecture, photography, glass and cinema.
Amongst the temporary exhibitions at the Tower of David Museum, there have been ''Eating in Jerusalem'' - an exploration of the tastes and smells of Jerusalem for the last 3000 years, ''Cinema Jerusalem'' - 100 years of cinema in Jerusalem and ''In the Light of Jerusalem 2000'' - the exhibition by glass artist Dale Chihuly . This exhibition broke a world record for the number of people to visit a temporary exhibition in the year 2000.
