Museum Archives

The Museum Archives are for use by academics, researchers, curators, students, school children and the general public. Arrangements must be made in advance with the Archive Team as private-search use of the archives is not available.
Permanent Exhibition of the History of Jerusalem
A large visual documentation of the permanent exhibition; photographs of the exhibition halls held in the ancient guardrooms of the citadel along with detailed photographs of the exhibits.

 

Jerusalem's Citadel

A wide range of photographs that show Jerusalem's Citadel (commonly known as the''Tower of David''), Amongst them: various photographs of the citadel as it is seen today, photographic documentation of different architectural elements of the citadel's structure, photographs of the citadel's courtyard and the archaeological garden, photographs of the views of east and west Jerusalem from the citadel's towers.
In addition there is also a unique collection of photographs of the Tower of David and of the Jaffa Gate at the turn of the 19th century, as well as documentation of the different archaeological digs that were held at the citadel throughout the years.

 

Temporary Exhibitions

The archives hold visual documentation of the various temporary exhibitions that have been hosted by the Tower of David Museum over the years. Exhibits, research documentation and exhibition catalogues are available.

 

Photograph Collection

There are unique photograph collections of 19th century Jerusalem.
