In 1992, the Tower of David Museum presented the exhibition, Allenby at the Gates of Jerusalem, to mark 75 years since the capture of the city by British troops, led by General Allenby. |
| The exhibit consisted of an impressive collection of photographs and documents of the conquest of the city and of the surrender ceremony, which was held at the entrance to the Tower of David. A giant video screen showed an original film documenting the event. |
| During the course of the exhibition, a special ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary of Allenby's entrance to Jerusalem was held. Legendary Jerusalem mayor, Teddy Kollek and Viscount Michael Allenby, grandson of the general, reenacted the event. |
