Statue of David and Goliath

Statue of David, replica The renowned Italian Renaissance artist Verrocchio (1435-1488) created his sculpture 'David' for the Medici family, apparently before 1476. The original is housed today in the National Museum of the Bargello in Florence.
This bronze replica, made in Florence and given as a gift to the city of Jerusalem, stands in one of the embrasures of the Citadel. Its height is 126 cm.
