| The Splendor of Mamluk Buildings |
 |
According to Mamluk law, the rulers were not permitted to pass on their titles and property to their offspring. Therefore, in order to perpetuate their names, the Mamluk rulers built and dedicated many public buildings. Their names can be seen on mosques, madrassas, public baths , khans and markets until today. |
