Mamluk Period Exhibit

The exhibit covers the two and a half centuries from the Mamluk conquest of Jerusalem in 1260 until its capture by the Ottoman Turks in 1517.
Mamluk Period Exhibit The Mamluks emphasized the religious character of the city and made it an important Islamic center of learning. Muslim seminaries, mosques and other religious building were established.
A feature to which the exhibit relates was the liberal attitude of the Mamluks to non-Muslim minorities, which allowed for co-existence among the city's various communities.
