First Temple Period Exhibit

First Temple Period Exhibit The focus of the exhibit is on the establishment of the city as the national capital and religious center of ancient Israel.
Jerusalem's fortunes rose with King David's conquest of Jebus, and the transformation of the city into a thriving economic center under his son, Solomon.
The exhibit describes the efforts of Jerusalem's kings to resist the massive threat of the Mesopotamian empires. In the end the city was conquered and destroyed by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar, the Temple was razed and the people exiled to Babylon (586 BCE).
