Ayyubid Period Exhibit

Ayyubid Period Exhibit The focus is the rule of Saladdin, the founder of the Ayyubid dynasty in Egypt, after his conquest of Jerusalem in 1187.
The exhibit records the long struggle with the Crusaders for control of the Holy City, which culminated in the peace agreement signed with the Crusader king Frederick II: the Temple Mount would remain in Muslim hands, while the Christians controlled the rest of Jerusalem.
