1. Guinness Book record at the Tower of David Museum! Two thousand Jewish and Arab youths joined to paint the world’s longest painting. The theme was “A Dream of Peace”. It sprawled along some 500 meters in the Citadel courtyard, breaking the previous record – a 120-meter long painting (1993).
2. The Tower goes pink! The Tower of David, along with 200 other prominent structures in major cities and capitals all over the world was lit with pink lights to mark the opening of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October 2002). The Estee Lauder Company and the Israel Cancer Association sponsored the local event.
3. The Tower of David Museum was chosen as one of the 100 most romantic places in the world in a special travel guide. The choice inspired our tour that follows Jerusalem’s love stories through history. Many couples have their wedding in the Museum courtyard, and the most daring of suitors propose at the top of the Phasael tower. None have been refused…
4. World record at the Tower of David Museum in the year 2000: Over one million visits to the “Jerusalem 2000" exhibition by glass artist Dale Chihuly. This marked an unprecedented number of visits to an exhibition anywhere in the world. The statistics were published in The Art Newspaper.
5. In 1994 the Museum presented “Eating in Jerusalem”, dedicated to 3000 years of cooking in Jerusalem. A recipe book was used as the exhibition’s catalogue and it flew off the shelves. The Museum thanks the Fuchs family for a copy of the book, "Eating in Jerusalem", donated to the Museum Archive.
